Since Our Inception
Since our inception, we have rapidly grown into a notable force in the industry, currently serving 250 brokers across South Africa, on behalf of various insurance companies. In 2022, we achieved a significant milestone by obtaining Lloyd’s Open Market Correspondent status. This distinction enables us to place our brokers’ business into the Lloyd’s market through our facility, opening up new avenues for growth and expansion.

Director of Operations
Jacobus is the Director of Operations and the Key Individual of Tranquille. He is an alumnus of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Swiss Re Institute. He holds various professional qualifications and is a member of the CII’s Society of Underwriting Professionals in the UK.
With over 15 years of senior management experience, Jacobus specialises in Commercial Underwriting with an emphasis on Property and Engineering Risks in Africa. He is a keen entrepreneur and has co-founded three successful companies that service the financial services industry locally.
Jan Hendrik Hollenbach
MD of Tranquille Intermediary Services & Head of Strategic and Complex Risks
Jan is a specialist in broker distribution and risk management, with extensive experience in corporate and private bank brokers across Africa. His expertise includes commercial credit, insurance placements, and risk management, giving him unique insight into complex risk transfers.
He has developed a distinctive service offering by simplifying and repackaging challenges in risk management into solutions like coinsurance, reinsurance, and traditional placements, supporting brokers with tailored strategies.
Michelle Hollenbach

Michelle’s experience in the insurance industry spans more than two decades, with roles ranging from underwriter, administrator, marketer, consultant, Key Individual, area manager, to CEO. She has successfully founded two underwriting management companies, launched innovative engineering products, and leads our juristic representative business as CEO.
